To represent and co-ordinate the efforts of members and to facilitate their endeavours in the importation, supply and distribution of superior genetic material to enhance the quality of the national herd and to ensure the improvement of livestock in South Africa in accordance with the Animal Improvement Act, 62 of 1998.
AGTA members shall meet all legal requirements as laid out in the Animal Improvement Act of 1998 (Act 62 of 1998). Note: This will include any new Act as published by Government.
AGTA members will co-operate with the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) at all times.
AGTA members will notify DALRRD of any outbreaks of relevant diseases in country of origin of imported genetics.
AGTA members will communicate with the AGTA committee and members in good faith.
AGTA members will co-operate within the AGTA structures for the improvement of the National livestock herd in South Africa.
AGTA members shall comply with the legal requirements of all relevant legislation to not bring the Industry, Association, or its members into disrepute.
AGTA members shall comply with the Constitution of the Animal Genetics Traders Association (AGTA).
Is tested for any currently known breed specific genetic recessive defects.
Is tested for all known Haplotypes.
Comply with the prescribed Veterinary requirements.
The donor/donors are registered with the relevant authority of the breed.
The donors have been DNA typed, and DNA certificates have been supplied to the relevant authorities.
Was produced to OIE standards for Conventional and Sexed semen and complied with export Quality standards as laid down by the authorities in the country of origin.
In the unlikely event that any of our products shall be known to be defective, damage resulting from their use shall exclude consequential damages and be limited to the purchase price of the product.
